Final day of the Gothia Special Olympics Trophy

On Thursday, GSOT are competing in their finals at Heden 5 - GB Glace and Heden 6.

Parallel to the Gothia Cup, the Gothia Special Olympics Trophy tournament is taking place. This year, 15 nations are participating with a total of 48 teams. On Thursday, it was time for the finals at Heden; at 11.00 a.m., Uzbekistan played against Lithuania. Uzbekistan secured the victory with a score of 4-1.

Coach Farrakhan Baymuradov is pleased with the result and proud of the team's performance. On behalf of the team, he can also confirm that this week's matches and activities have been appreciated by the Uzbekistani players.

– Last night, we played beach volleyball, and later today, we'll be heading into the city to get a better sense of the town and its people, says Farrakhan Baymuradov.

The Gothia Special Olympics Trophy is organized for youth with different intellectual disabilities. It is part of Gothia's initiative "Celebrate the People," which aims to promote interaction between people and provide equal opportunities for the common denominator: the love for football. The tournament is a collaboration between Gothia Cup, Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia, Special Olympics Sweden, and Kim Källström.
