FC Streetball victorious
Girls 14 Stjarnan 1 - Streetball FC 1-3 (1-3)
Canadian team FC Streetball won a tough game against Icelandic team Stjarnan 1 by 3-1 in the Girls 14 class.
- We put so much effort into this, all of us in the team. I'm really happy, says player Aaliyah Mcdiarmid.
Streetball FC from Canada got off to a good start in the final against Icelandic team Stjarnan 1. They pressured Stjarnan high and scored twice before Stjarnan got on the scoreboard. The 2-1 goal was the best goal at SKF Arena so far this day. A long shot from outside the penalty box, it hit the crossbar and went in. A bit later in the first half they had another shot in the crossbar but it did not go in. Instead it was Streetball FC who extended their lead, going up 3-1 in the final minutes of the first half.
The second half was a hard fought affair with both teams being relentless in their pressure. There were very few clear scoring chances in the half however, and Streetball's lead was never in serious danger. A tough, competitive game with the Canadians emerging victorious.
