Gothia Cup

Cantolao´s journey from Peru to Gothenburg

After a 14-hour long trip, the Peruvian team has finally arrived in Sweden.

Gothia Cup hosts teams from all over the world. Some local teams travel less than 15 minutes from their homes, while other teams fly from the other side of the planet. Cantolao, who play in the B15 category, is one of the teams that has traveled a long way, a 14-hour long trip from Peru to be more precise.

Cantolao AD is a well-known professional football club from Callao, Peru, with a very promising youth academy. After a 14-hour trip from Peru, with a transfer in Paris, the team is finally ready to check in at the tournament. Despite their exhaustion, the team arrives with big smiles on their faces and an optimistic view about the tournament.
- We know it's a very hard tournament with a lot of great teams, but we will give everything we have to win, says Juan Eduardo, who plays in central midfield for the black and yellow colored team.

The team previously traveled abroad for a tournament in Bolivia, but not all current players participated in that tournament.
- It's my first time traveling abroad with the team. Some of my teammates traveled to Bolivia for a tournament a while ago, but I didn't go. I am looking forward to the journey we have ahead of us here in Sweden. Gothenburg is a nice city and feels very safe, Juan ends the sentence with.

Cantolao plays in Group 3 in the B15 category and will face two Swedish teams, named Ösmo GIF FK and Lilla Torg FF, and one English team named Most Wanted Elite. All of their group stage matches will take place in Heden.
