Rules of competition

The regulation applied is in accordance with the Special Olympics regulations. The tournaments starts with divisioning, on Monday, according to Special Olympics procedure in order to secure an as fair play as possible. The divisioning is the basis for group divisions and playing schedule. Read Special Olympics regulations.

The matches will be played 7-a-side.

A maximum of ten players can be registered in each team.

Playing period

Divisioning matches: 15 min
Group stage and play off: 2x15 min

Age control

All participants at Gothia Cup must complete the age control to participate in the tournament. This is to make sure that all participants are eligible to participate in the age category they are enrolled in. All Gothia Special Olympics Trophy participants complete their age control at the Gothia Special Olympics Trophy area at Kviberg.
