SEF Trophy - a great time to shine for the Swedish academies

In SEF Trophy, the Swedish academies get the chance to show off their skills and shine in a big context.

Last year's winners AIK will return to SEF Trophy 2023 but there are many talented teams who will fight for the coveted trophy.

SEF Trophy was played for the first time in 2017 and is a competition where Sweden's best academies on the boys' side line up with 15-year-old players and settle for the prestigious title during the Gothia Cup. Svensk Elitfotboll and its network Unicoach organize SEF Trophy, which is played under the umbrella of Gothia Cup. The purpose of this competition category in Gothia Cup is to develop young talent in our national academies and prepare the players for football at a higher level. In addition, the teenage talents get the chance to play in front of large audiences and participate in the big context that is Gothia Cup. Many current professional players have played in SEF Trophy, where matches last 2 x 30 minutes. Last year, AIK emerged victorious in SEF Trophy after beating BK Häcken by 3–0 in the final. As usual, the majority of our Swedish elite clubs will field amazing teams in the tournament.
